Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between CBD and THC?
CBD = Cannabidiol, THC = Tetrahydrocannabidiol.
While the names are similar, there is a world of difference between these two compounds. THC is the compound in marijuana plants that is psychoactive, and causes a "high." CBD is found in both marijuana and hemp plants, but is non-psychoactive.
What is the difference between marijuana and CBD?
The cannabis family has several plants, including marijuana and hemp plants. Marijuana has very high concentrations of THC, often in levels of 15-20%, and with lower levels of CBD. Hemp plants are the complete reverse. Hemp plants contain 15-20% of CBD and less than 0.3% THC.
What can CBD help with?
CBD may help you with a wide variety of medical and mental health conditions, such as:
- Pain - including arthritis, muscle pain and spasms, nerve pain, and migraines
- Anxiety - such as panic disorder, social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, and PTSD
- Depression
- Insomnia

What is the difference between full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate CBD products?
There are over 100 known cannabinoids on the planet. CBD and THC are just two examples of cannabinoids. There are several others - such as CBG, CBV, and CBC.
- CBD isolate: These products ONLY contain CBD, and no THC or other cannabinoids.
- Broad spectrum: These products contain CBD and other cannabinoids, but no THC.
- Full spectrum: There is CBD, THC, and potentially other cannabinoids in the product.
What CBD dosage should I take?
CBD is not one size fits all. Everyone's dose is very unique. All staff members at CBD Central are CBD dosing experts and we provide assistance to all our customers for their individual needs. Typical starting doses are 5-10 mg twice daily. Average doses are 15-30 mg twice daily, although some may need up to 100 mg or more daily.
Are there are any drug interactions with CBD?
There are very few known drug interactions with low doses of CBD. Unfortunately, there has been limited research in this area. Generally, if your medication is safe to take with grapefruit juice, it is safe to take with CBD. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please reach out to us directly.
What is the difference between the CBD oil, gummies, and capsules?
The main differences are in duration of action and onset of effect. CBD oil typically lasts 6-8 hours, while gummies and capsules can last 10-12 hours. CBD oil is delivered sublingually (under the tongue) which bypasses your stomach and allows for more effective absorption. CBD oil takes effect more quickly, generally in 15-20 minutes, compared to gummies and capsules which can take 30-90 minutes for onset of effect.
CBD oil is generally recommended for beginners as this is the easiest method to find your dose. Once you have found your dose, you can easily change to another form of CBD.
Is CBD addictive or habit forming?
There is no evidence to suggest CBD is habit forming. In fact, there are some early clinical trials suggesting that CBD may help with opioid and nictoine addictions. Our bodies may need consistent CBD intake to feel less pain or anxiety, but this does not mean addiction.
Can you develop a tolerance to CBD?
While there is little information on this subject in the medical community, most CBD consumers do not need to keep increasing their dose over time. Once you have found your dose, chances are you won't need to change it much.
Are hemp flower and other CBD products legal?
Yes, it is legal to purchase and consume hemp-derived CBD in all 50 states. The government classifies hemp as any plant of the cannabis family that contains less than 0.3% THC.
Where can I find your hemp flower and vape products in the online store?
Unfortunately, our hemp flower and CBD vape products are only sold in store. With all of the attention surrounding CBD since the farm bill was passed December 2018, the banks, insurance companies, and payment processors are still creating their policies and procedures surrounding the sale of hemp flower and CBD vape. This makes it very difficult for small businesses to sell these products through ecommerce channels, and generally the only way to sell these products online is by producing over $75,000 a month in ecommerce credit card sales. Otherwise, it's the fastest way to get dropped by your payment processor.
If you're not local, but would like to purchase these products from us, please call us at (828) 513-1251 and we will assist you in getting your order placed.
